Update from The Ark

At the beginning of 2026, we take a brief look back at December. In December 2025, the Ark successfully reunited six (6) children with their guardians through legal guardianship arrangements, in accordance with the 

Children’s Act 2022 and recognising the best opportunities in the field of child protection and alternative family care.  This milestone is the result of months of careful preparation, family tracing, counselling, home visits and cooperation with the Department of Children’s Services. We are grateful that these children can now grow up in safe, stable and loving family environments.

Kjsea-resultats – academical success 

December brought wonderful news when the Year 6 pupils received their national KJSEA examination results. The children performed very well and celebrated this important academic milestone in preparation for their placement in secondary education. We have been informed that all children who took the KJSEA examination have been successfully placed in senior secondary schools:

Christmas and New years eve at The Ark

The Christmas celebration at the Ark was a joyful family moment for both the children and the staff. The days were filled with laughter, music, games, shared meals and thanksgiving to God. For many of the children, this was a reminder that they belong, that they are loved and that they have a family at the Ark.

Return of the children after family reunion in december 

During the December holidays, several children stayed with relatives and foster families. In January, they returned safely to The Ark, with renewed self-confidence and a strong sense of belonging.

Back to school – continuation and new school transitions

January was a busy period in which:

  • existing pupils returned to school
  • new children were enrolled
  • some children transferred to new schools after reintegration

These smooth transitions were made possible thanks to the dedication of staff and the support of the Ark's partners.
