De Prinses Julianakerk in Scheveningen

Update from Mwanzo

Update from Mwanzo

A brief overview of what has been happening around Stichting Mwanzo — from wonderful support close to home to promising contacts further afield.

Prinses Julianakerk collects for Mwanzo

In the first quarter of 2026, the Prinses Julianakerk in Scheveningen did something special: the entire quarter, collections were taken up for Mwanzo. The result? €328.50. We are deeply grateful to the congregation of the Prinses Julianakerk for this beautiful gesture of care and generosity.

Trip to Kenya postponed

The planned trip to Kenya unfortunately did not go ahead. Due to personal circumstances it had to be postponed. The intention is for the trip to take place later this year. We are looking forward to it.

Meeting with Wilde Ganzen

Jackson, the manager of The Ark, and I had a conversation together with Wilde Ganzen. It was a wonderful first meeting. What quickly became clear: the way we work aligns beautifully with the vision of Wilde Ganzen — namely, caring for children for as short a time as possible and then placing them back with their own family or household of origin. Exactly what The Ark does.

We spoke about possible collaboration at project level. One of the possibilities we are seriously considering is taking on the empowerment project together with Wilde Ganzen. We are proud that an organisation like Wilde Ganzen recognises and values our approach.

We are looking for volunteers

Mwanzo runs on people with a heart for the cause — and we could use more hands. We are looking for volunteers who want to help us, for example by writing pieces for the newsletter, searching for sponsors, or reaching out to people in their own network. Because the more people get involved, the greater the impact for the children of The Ark.

Do you know someone — or would you like to contribute yourself? Get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
