Februari: a month of new beginnings and farewells
February was a month of movement at The Ark Children's Home. We welcomed two new children, and said goodbye to one — in the most beautiful way possible.
Two new children find a home
Two children came to The Ark in February. They received a safe place to stay, warm basic provisions, and the psychosocial support they need to recover and find their footing again. Meanwhile, we are working closely with child protection authorities to address their individual situations.
Both children were enrolled in school straight away, ensuring their education continues uninterrupted — even during a period that is anything but ordinary for them. In accordance with the Children Act of 2022, they appeared before the children's court, which formally approved their placement. This is more than a legal formality: it is a guarantee that every child receives the protection and care they deserve.
A child returns home
The best news of the month: one child was successfully reunited with their family. After a careful assessment and close collaboration with the relevant authorities, this child was able to go home. Family reunification is always our ultimate goal — because a child belongs with the people who love them.
